It's the official opening of the ATLANTIS, the $ 1.5 billion MEGA RESORT at Palm Jumeirah , the man made Island in the Arabian Sea. $ 3 million worth of record breaking fireworks lit up the Thursday night sky for more than 30 minutes. It was the world's biggest ever fireworks display. A celebration party of $ 20 million(Dhs 75.5 million), the most expressive and extravant party in Dubai's history.Over 2000 A list celebrities including The Duchess of York, Robert De Niro, Kylie Monogue, Charlize Theron, Wesley Snipes, Richard nranson, Lindsay Lohan, Janet Jackson, Michael Jordon, Priyanka Chopra and Preity Zinta dined on signature dishes prepared by Multi-Million Michelin star chefs, Santi Santamaria, Michel Rostang and Nobu matsuhisa.
By the way, Priyanka Chopra was the Goddess of Atlantis in the video designed by Marie-jJeanne Gauthe, creative director for Jean Michel Jarre in Paris.
Ordinary folks like ME could view the event from Dubai Marina but I decided to spend quality time at the park with my hearthrob, my son instead and view the event on TV the next day. That's being sensible, you see!!!

Hey, the news is not over, yet. The Atlantis Launch Party Fireworks Program is set to enter the Guiness Book of World Records. This has been confirmed by Grucci of New York, the firework's organiser.
The budget for Atlantis was $3 million which itself is a World Record.
So DUBAI makes it to the NEWS with this Extravaganza in the time of FINANCIAL MELTDOWN.
