Bad, Bad Rain!!!

Rain should be a welcome relief in this part of the world but it isn’t and for some good reasons. Firstly it lacks any quality of gentleness though much needed and longed for. Half an hour of down pour cause panic and enough wreckage to bring normalcy to a halt. The battering rain seems to be releasing some sort of vengeance making life a paralysis . The hottest topics for conversation are the inaccessible roads, congested traffic, sunken vehicles, accidents , water log, sneezes and coughs. There’s a sense of gloom pervading in the over cast, making everything dark and grey. The lashing and the bashing appears foreboding, everyone's only wish is to make it to their haven safely. With the prediction of Tsunami in other parts of the world and natural calamities crippling life, we the desert folks are fearful and apprehensive too. Rumor spreads like fire and what is actually a longing becomes a thing of terror. The joy of the rain, the pitter-patter on roof tops and window sills, birds bathing in puddles and sizzling savories are far forgotten! In contrast it’s a stress pill , a cause for endless worry.
The sultry summer heat then feels far better, more natural and better equipped to cope!
