And finally, when you smiled,
the world glowed
yellow and bold!
Spring sprung forth,
brought an avalanche of mirth.
Flowers, purple and blue
spread mystical hue,
enchanted the lute and his flute
music mesmerized,
chastised and baptized.
Shaken and awoken
were men by that Smile
for a while.

Smile a while
could be in any style
who cares what the cost
to seize this moment before it gets lost
when all we have is tears and pain
hoping for a little sunshine through this incessant rain
of anger, hatred and violence
no place here for resilience
so, smile I say
you are fortunate to be alive this day!
