Spring is in the air and one can feel its warmth everywhere. Its vibrant hue can uplift any spirit! Ushering in spring is nature way of adding that healing touch, of rejuvenating dying hearts and getting rid of the dead of winter. With spring comes LIFE and HOPE! Nature is at its best; flowers blossom, butterflies flutter, the Sun is mellow and the wind gentle.
I still remember the April flowers all in bloom in my school garden and the celebration of HOLI, with all of us smeared in colored powder, literally living the colors of nature. To be honest I have no idea what significance this festival has. It's rather risky since people take full liberty at flinging colors at anyone, pouring water which can be a concoction of anything and offering a greenish gooey substance of a drink called 'bhang' that can null all the senses in a way none of the known drinks can. And yes, the fervor with which the festival is observed can deafen one's sense of hearing. These days, it's difficult to find melody in a song .
This is one festival I would never wish to be a part of. Such a beautiful season should have an environment and sense-friendly ways of ushering, that’s solely my opinion.
I for one am glad the season of spring has renewed old ties. Now my life is a garden with flowers of friendship blooming in all vibrancy and hue. Life is worth living once again!

~~ Beauty of a Woman ~~
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman
With time, only grows..

'I went to Heaven's supermarket and picked up flowers of faith, cards of salvation and perfume of joy but I didn't pay because JESUS had already paid for you and me on the CROSS.'
Received this message from Shashank, my student from SAS, KPG, this morning and I wept 'tears of joy'.

A Handful of Earth...
HOLD ON TO WHAT IS GOOD EVEN IF IT IS A HANDFUL OF EARTH,
HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE EVEN IF IT IS A TREE THAT STANDS BY ITSELF.
I'll hold on to the belief that someday all will be well and this Earth will be a garden of Eden. Nothing will be wiped off , they'll be captured and frozen to preserve their precious nature. They'll crystalize and shine ever so bright and with their radiance dim and destroy all obstacles. There'll be bridges to replace walls, love in place of hatred, giving more than receiving and happiness in its true essence. Such a moment is not far....

A GOOD FAREWELL!
In my younger days, I didn’t quite understand the necessity of a farewell. Infact it would make me wonder why there had to be so much formality in saying the two simplest words. I’d wonder why people would have to gather and go through the process of expressing one’s feeling and shed tears. I didn’t like it one bit because it was a moment when my weakness would be revealed .
There was excitement too, especially in my teenage days, when for the first time I along with a few others got the opportunity to plan the much awaited farewell party for the out going seniors. I still remember trotting authoritatively to every class making collections, chalking a budget, selecting gift items, planning every detail of the event. Best of all was going shopping; I’d get that much awaited opportunity of visiting my favorite ‘nook’. Being in a residential school, the only places of interest then were ‘food joints’. To be honest we’d return with more food for our ever hungry bellies. I must have had a barrel for a stomach those days,I was always so hungry.
Food then was surely ‘glorious’ and those midnight feasts a sheer thrill. It’s fun to break rules at times!
Now with age I’ve mellowed a great deal and begun to see sense. Yes, now I have a different opinion, farewell or in other words, a proper goodbye is necessary. It is one way of bringing home the message that we have moved one step ahead. The journey of life is a forward trail and that we need to march on. A proper goodbye helps one compromise with and accept reality. It stops one from building ‘false hope’ and wasting time and it also helps the past be a treasure trove where one can seek to find the jewel that’ll be a ‘shining star’ , a guiding light when everything fades into oblivion.

Nights of bliss and sheer poetry!
Moonlit sky, open air theatre, poetry recitation, traditional music, folklore and dance! What else does one need?
The last two evenings have been the best ever where I talked poetry, walked poetry and felt poetry in the very pulse. It was transcendence to a world of my dreams, where there’s pure bliss, eternal and everlasting. It’s a world of words, therefore there’s no betrayal. I’ve found my new haunts; yes, it’s the Dubai House of Poetry, The Madinet Theatre and I’m hoping my better half will to drive me to The World Trade Center this evening for Wole Soyinka’s poetry recitation. Grant me my wish, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
